Blog Reflection: Using Kahoot! to Reinforce Patient Access Training

For this assignment, I created a Kahoot! quiz titled “Patient Access at UAB: Knowledge Challenge.” Click here to play it!

Kahoot! is an interactive learning platform that allows users to build quizzes, polls, and games that promote engagement and teamwork. I designed this quiz to reinforce essential concepts related to UAB’s Patient Access operations, including scheduling accuracy, service levels, and core values such as Own It and Work Together.

Creating the quiz was simple and enjoyable. Kahoot’s interface allowed me to add multiple-choice questions, images, and timers to make the learning experience more dynamic. It provides instant feedback and a competitive element that encourages participants to stay focused while having fun.

In a professional setting, I could use Kahoot! as part of onboarding, refresher training, or department meetings to ensure staff understand key procedures and metrics. It’s also an excellent way to celebrate progress and promote team learning in a remote or hybrid work environment. In an educational context, this same tool can help students review key topics or assess understanding in a low-pressure, interactive format.

By combining gamification with meaningful content, Kahoot! transforms routine training into a motivating and memorable learning experience.
